ready set go!

Tomorrow is the big day. Steve and I will finally be building our raised garden beds. I've been wanting to build these for a few weeks now, but we've just have had so much going on we haven't had the chance until this weekend.

Here is all that we will be accomplishing tomorrow: making the walls for each bed; clearing out the part of the yard for the boxes and laying down weed cloth; mixing all the compost, manure, vermiculite, and peat moss together to make the soil; making a grid for both boxes to better organize all the veggies; and then hopefully planting some lettuce for our first harvest! We'll leave building the trellises for another day.

All the soil components are bought (as of today) and so now we just need to make a quick trip to get the lumber and weed cloth for the boxes either tonight or early tomorrow morning. It's supposed to be great weather here tomorrow, so I'm excited to be outdoors in the sun and get my hands dirty!
