We couldn't have asked for better weather this past weekend to work on our garden beds - it was absolutely gorgeous. Saturday we cleared out the spots in our yard for the beds and Steve got to working on making the frames for the boxes. My job that day was combining all the ingredients for our soil on a borrowed tarp from a friend. Because of limited time, that's as far as we got on Saturday.
Sunday we laid the weed cloth under the frames and then filled each garden bed with 6 inches of the most amazing soil ever made and watered the soil so it would set.
We still have to do a few more things before we're completely done. We still have to make the grids for each bed, make the trellises, and lastly figure out a way to keep the birds and squirrels out of the beds! I'm so glad the bulk of the work is done though and perhaps in a couple of days I'll have some lettuce planted!
I didn't get a whole lot of pictures, but here's what I have of what we've done so far:
leveling the spots for each bed
