8 months

Caleb,

A lot of things have happened this month. You cut your first 2 teeth, we spent a whole week at Smith Mountain Lake, you got sick for the first time, and you've begun to eat finger foods.

You love to eat bananas, cheese, cheerios, green beans, and squash. You absolutely hated avocados. You're beginning to learn how to pick up small items like cheerios, but are still having a hard time perfecting the release of them into your mouth.

Your favorite toys lately have been a toothbrush and a wooden spoon. You continue to love any toy that makes noise or lights up. You are very much attached to Blue when you go to sleep. When we go into your room once you wake up you always have Blue in a bear hug. It's so precious to see how much you love that stuffed animal.

When we took you to the doctor when you were sick, you weighed almost 22 pounds. You're still a big boy and those cheeks haven't gone down in the least bit. You've gotten noticeably longer as well - none of your pajamas are long enough anymore.

I've been working in the nursery and got to see with my own eyes how content and laid back you are. Most other babies are fussy or fighting over toys, but you just kind of sit back and go with the flow. I'm realizing more and more just how blessed we are to have such a good baby.

Your dad and I say that we wish we could push pause on your life. We love this stage you're in right now - you're so interactive, fun, cute, and yet not mobile, which means we don't have to watch your every move just yet.

We love you!
